Let me start by saying the vacation in New Providence Island was wonderful. The problems started immediately when we went to check in at the Paradise Island Harbour Resort. We were given keys and went upstairs to find a room with two double beds. We were under the impression from our reservations that we had a king size bed. So we went down stairs to discuss this with the front desk. We spoke to three people. Same story from each of them. "There is nothing we can do, we don't have any king size rooms." So I immediately contacted the company we booked our vacation through, bookit.com. After ten minutes on the phone with bookit.com and asking to switch to another hotel the front desk miraculously found a room with a king size bed. Funny how that happened. The rooms are extremely dirty. The floor hasn't been mopped in ages and there was a lot of dust accumulated around the air vents. This hotel is all inclusive including drinks. However, on several occasions (three I specifically remember) I was told they could not make the drink I requested because their machines for the drink mix weren't ready. Mind you this wasn't 8am in the morning. It was either late afternoon or early evening when this occurred. The restaurants are ok at best. However, on several occasions when we went to dinner later in the evening (during their dinner hours) desserts and other foods were completely gone. How do I know this? Because before we went to excursion I checked the cafeteria restaurant to see what they had to eat. They do not replenish the food. So if you eat later good luck you may not get much. We also had a problem with our room key. During our stay, after being tired from shopping we went up the elevator to our room. We tried our key and guess what? The keys didn't work. Both of our keys. The lady at the front desk asked us if we had had the keys near a magnet or credit card. This was their reason why the keys miraculous stopped working. Lastly, during our stay we had very noisy neighbours who were screaming at each other at 4am in the morning. When we told them about this the next morning their response was they would talk to them about it. That's it. No apology. Overall, we highly recommend the Bahamas. It was a great time. Just DON'T stay at this hotel.

To anyone thinking about going to the Paradise Island Harbour Resort Hotel in the Bahamas. Please, please don't go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the worst hotel ever - and that is no lie. My wife and I recently went there. What a nightmare. It is filthy, full of drunken American students. The food is poor. The swimming pool, well we never managed to see the bottom. The lagoon is very badly contaminated. The decor in the rooms is poor. The entertaintment virtually non-existant. You should have got the idea by now. The final straw for us was when part of the ceiling collapsed in our room. That week - 12, TWELVE, of us moved out and went to the Radisson on Cable Beach - we thought we had died and gone to heaven. First Choice should be ashamed and embarrassed in sending guests to the Harbour Resort Hotel.

I thought this hotel was alright, first thoughts I didn't think much of it as it wasn't perfect, but I didn't expect it to be. I thought the private beach was excellent, even though the sea wasn't as clear as other parts but it was still a fun environment, and you get some of the best views from the room windows. I thought it was great that they had different themed nights at the Captains Table, and if you didn't like anything in there then you always had the other restaurant or the pool bar food. Ok, so the pool wasn't perfect, but it did the job and there was a great atmosphere with entertainment during the day. At night there wasn't much entertainment but the entertainment they did have was brilliant. I loved it, I had a fantastic time!
