We booked the Laguna Park Hotel thinking it was a four star hotel but we were very dissapointed!! I found the hotel was in a very dated and shabby state. The air conditioning did not work, the internet centre did not work, the staff were not that helpful or friendly. Our rep from Balkan Holidays seemed to be not that concerned with our complaints. The food, thank goodness we were only bed and breakfast, was awful, I just felt the whole dining room/staff and probably kitchens were not the cleanest. I would recommend you think again before booking this overated four star hotel !!!

I went on 11th June '07 for 2 weeks with my boyfriend to Laguna Park. The hotel itself is in an excellent position, set far enough back from the bars, etc, so it has space round the pool and the noise won't keep you awake at night but yet it's still in the heart of the resort. The rooms were clean & spacious with a good sized balcony, the bathrooms looked quite new and the shower was large with water that was always warm. Cleaners are always about the hotel working away, the one that did our room was a little gem, even folding up a t-shirt that we'd left on the floor! The pool is brilliant, a good size with a separate kids bit, there's also a water slide that's suprisingly fast. There's lots of sun loungers and people don't get up at daft o'clock to get their towels out. There was a mixture of nationalities staying there, the majority were German or Swedish, but there was also quite a few Scottish, Irish and English. Breakfast was served from 7am - 10am but it really got busy around 9am onwards. You could sit indoors or outdoors and the food was served buffet style including: fried eggs, scrambled eggs, eggy bread, pancakes & syrup, spicy sausage, bacon, salad, pate, ham, cheese, salami, bread rolls, sliced bread, toast, croissants, cakes, watermelon, apricots, cherries, bananas, apples, oranges, nectarines, cornflakes, choco cereal, muesli, oat crunch, natural yoghurt. To drink there was milk, water, orange cordial, blackcurrant cordial, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. We thought the breakfast was really good, and although people might complain it's not typically "English" I wouldn't go on holiday expecting that. We also ate at the hotel a few nights as it only cost 12Lev each (less than 5) for a buffet. Each night there was a selection of salads, side dishes, around 10 main dishes, and deserts, including lasagne, spaghetti carbonara, veal steak, barbequed chicken, chicken skewers, fish in sauce, pork undercuts, pork kavarma, stuffed peppers, chips, pasta, potatoes, veg. All the food was really nice and because there was a big selection you'd always find something you liked. The hotel also serves food throughout the day, which was quite resonably priced for a hotel. We left the waiter a 4Lev tip (not even 2) and he was our best friend for the rest of the holiday, reserving us a table etc! All in all we had a great holiday and really liked the hotel.

We went to the Laguna Park Hotel on a late booking and weren't expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised! Lovely entrance, seating, bar, TVs, very spacious. The best thing about the reception was the safes. All in the foyer and you had to have a member of staff open it with you making it much safer. The room was quite big, bathroom clean, view not too good but quiet. Maid service excellent. Folded the bedding up in different ways very surprised at the finishing touches. We only had bed and breakfast but a good selection each morning, fresh bread, cereals, fruit and fry ups if you wanted. Coffee very strong though! Okay if you've been drinking the night before. Stayed around the pool a few days. Pool clean but could have done with a hose down now and then around the pool. Ants which get everywhere anyway even in England. Lots of nice eating places and very good value. We enjoyed our holiday. Cheap, didn't spend much, good weather and not a bad hotel. Left to do what you please which is a good point.
