Went to this hotel with an open mind after reading reviews, have to say this was one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. The first room we had stank so bad it made you heave the second room was much smaller and didn't smell as bad the rooms were not cleaned but the towels were changed every day. The location was awful as the local bars played loud music until all hours keeping you awake. The restaurant on the top floor was not worth the long wait for the lifts. The food was cold under cooked and bland there was a shortage of clean cups and cutlery and if you wanted fresh fruit juice you had to pay. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing stress free holiday.

Me and my girlfriend were there from 17/9/2010 til 02/10/2010 and had a blast. Only the food let us down. Going back next year but we're looking to get a villa with a few friends and do our own thing this time round. Quality place and hotel was fine apart from the mrs getting bitten an awful lot through the night.

Went on 21st Sept 07. Meridian Hotel was fine although was dreading going due to reports on this site! The only let down was that we were not told that the resort of Sunny Beach shuts down from mid-Sept to mid-October. So there wasn't any aqua parks of water sports available and the shops and resturants were closing daily. The only main problem with the Meridian Hotel is that for the size of the hotel the pool and pool area is tiny but the beach is about a 10 min was and was lovely and clean.

This hotel was a nightmare! Do not go! The lifts were terrible, could only carry four people at a time and the restaurant was on the 11th Floor, so every day we had to wait for the lift (it had a mind of its own). I think during the whole week holiday we waited over an hour just waiting for the lift. Had to pay for the Sunbeds each day. The food was poor, started to take the food away at 8.30pm when dinner carried on until 9pm. Staff were rude, and very young, and inexperienced. We were both ill from eating at the hotel, and I knew other people who had upset stomachs. The resort was horrible, we spent the whole of 20mins in the central part, and heard bad rumours about visiting at night. Lots of prostitutes, and a gypsy camp near by. The nicest part was Nessebar, and we did a Lazy Cruise and the beach was clean and nice, watch out for the jelly fish though. The rooms were ok, with air conditioning, but it was loud at times when facing the bars.

Meridien Hotel food not to everyones taste but lots to choose from. Lifts very busy around meal times. Walk if you can manage the stairs. Maids great and most staff very friendly, very clean hotel and one of the best looking hotels. Swimming pool freezing but fun if you dare to get in. Be aware of mosquitoes on your second week, don't seem to attack on your first week.

Had a great holiday at the Meridian! Staff and food great. My only complaint is having to pay for sunbeds. It did not stop the early towels on beds so I think management are being greedy and just out to make more money!

Very pleased with the hotel. A special thanks to miya, tedi, nelly, mimi the waitresses who looked after us very well.[they work hard for pittance ;so tip them well]the food was excellent ;a wide variety for all [dont expect pies, pasties, sausage in batter etc]and plenty of it.the rooms are well equipped, and kept very clean on daily basis.the beach is approx 400 mts away but plenty to do and see on way.2beds+brolly 18 lev=7gbpgreat beach.we had a great time there food + drink reasonable ,+ copied clothing? even though we like music, the incessant boom boom everywhere gets to you, even the barmen at our hotel refused to tone it down. beware of left over beer being topped up ,we witnessed it several times.in all a great hol would go back again .[we tipped tedi, nelly 20 lev=£8 on leaving they were elated ,unfortunately miya+mimi not working they deserved the same] Tour Operator: thomas cook

We travelled to the Meridian Hotel at the end of June. Thanks goes to all the staff, who were all so fantastic and friendly. Were all very helpful. Sunny Beach is wonderful. If you go check out The Corner Pub (next to the hotel) the staff were al so nice. Havemade wonderful friends and cant wait to see them all again!

If you’re going to Sunny Beach then I can just about recommend this hotel. The Meritza and Meridian have combined and the whole complex is now known as The Meridian and upgraded to 4* (See my report on Hotel grading in Sunny Beach report). The refurbishment that took place over the winter of 2004/2005 has been rushed and in some places the hotel is a little rough around the edges, but in general to a good standard. Some of the bathrooms have yet to be finished and we were unlucky to get one of these, but were told by others that the completed bathrooms were very good. The rooms are a good size with plenty of storage for your clothes. One side of the hotel overlooks the pool, which is just about adequate for the size of the hotel. If you’re on this side, or to the rear of the hotel, then it is fairly quiet, but if you’re on one of the other two sides, it can be a little noisy up to about 1am, so take your earplugs. The roof top restaurant gives a good panoramic view over Sunny Beach, and Nesebar, but I cannot recommend the food, not even the breakfast. The reception staff are very good at their job and very friendly and helpful as are the staff in the bars and the chambermaids. The staff in the roof top restaurant are not so friendly or helpful. The hotel is in the southern part of Sunny Beach and about a 10 min walk from the beach, and has a number of very good restaurants all within 200yds. The corner pub, which is also part of the Meridian complex, is very good and cheap. Tour Operator: First Choice

My first impression of the Meridian was luxury. When we entered the hotel for the first time, my 13 year old son's jaw almost hit the ground. He was fascinated by the design of the hotel and the glass all the way up to the restraunt. The rooms were fantastic. They were very modern and spacious. We were in a superior room and it was the nicest hotel room I've ever slept in. This is an excellent holiday, but not really good for young children. Tour Operator: Balkan Holidays

Sunny Beach is a brilliant place to be if you want sun sand and drink. We stayed at the Meridian Hotel. This is a lovely hotel that had just been refurbished when we got there. The room was smallish but hey who cares your on your hols your only in it to sleep anyway. Sunny Beach had lots of places to eat and drink and the prices were very good-value. I would definately recommened Bulgaria. Tour Operator: Co-op travel
