Stayed in Umag for 4 days in August which is a charming town with Venetian influences beside the Adriatic. The ATP tennis tournament was on, so the place was thriving. Visited Motovun - a Tuscany style town on a hilltop, visited Slovenia, day trip to Venice and drove to Novigrad, Nice, Marian and Porec, great place. People went out of their way to make you welcome and Umag was a great base. Fantastic for a cheap outdoor holiday if you had small children.
