SAN REMO HOTEL HOLIDAY REVIEWS
San Remo Hotel, Larnaca
Rather good - Nomad. Date of travel: Jul 2007
The Hotel San Remo charges 35 CYP for the 3-person's room, 3rd person sleeps on couch-bed. The door of the room was hard to open and close due to the carpet. One can only get one key for every room. To have electricity in the room one needs the key holder. This approach is difficult when travelling in a group and some people want to have the air conditioner (or lights) on while others want to leave the hotel.
Sober breakfast and nice ordinary evening meals available (4 CYP a person for the evening meal). Pool is kept clean. Limited TV channels only.
Internet access is only available using the hotel's computers and it's expensive too: 1 CYP for 30 minutes. These minutes can be split up but one has to decide in advance on how many minutes one will be using in one go. While in Larnaca centre one can capture for free WifiHot spots. It's a shame these facilities are often still so poorly available in hotels.
Hotel San Remo is a good 15 minutes walk from the city centre. It's 5 minutes from the sea but there is no beach. For the beach one has to go further out of town to McKenzie beach. There are a couple of shops around as well as small restaurants.
Staff speak Russian, Greek and English. One has to leave one's passport at the reception for whole period of the hotel stay.
Special discount for renting a car, bike or motorbike is given to hotel residents as they run their own rental service.
Easy access for wheelchair users grace to a ramp (and maybe because some staff members are disabled themselves).
Good, even nice hotel with good facilities at a fair price.
