Raouf Star Hotel, Sharm el-Sheikh
The unique Raouf Star Hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh is a wonderful 5-star complex with exquisite features and is just 300m from a lovely, sand beach. With a sparkling river flowing through it, the hotel also offers a unique floating lounge, on-site restaurants, heated swimming pools, a children's area, watersports, an entertainment programme, an art gallerymore

Raouf Star Hotel - VERY Bizzare. Only 25 guests in all three hotels in high season. We felt like we were in a Middle Eastern version of "The Shining". The halls echoed the emptiness. The "beach" was sharp volcanic rock - even the sand hurt bare feet The food was ghastly, the chef served the Arabic men first even though my wife had placed her order first - they told her to sit down. With many other MUCH nicer places to stay at a similar price - don't bother with the Star or the Raouff hotels in the complex.

I stayed at the Raouf Star Hotel in Sharm el-Sheik for 2 weeks. It was the worst holiday of my life and I will never go back to Egypt. The management, on listening to our problems, answer "tomorrow tomorrow". There was no entertainment, no hot water, outside bars only for all inclusive customers, plastic cups, unedible food, same for breakfast, lunch and dinner, no cinema, no gym, no shops, dirty pools. I booked this holiday as a 5* hotel. I wouldnt rate it as 2*. I was like all the other Brits who had the misfortune to stay there - happy to get home.

Star/Sun/Moon resort has all the facilities you'd expect of a 5 star hotel, and much more. Unfortunately it has all the charm of an abortion clinic. No one knows how to run the projectors in the two cinema's and no one can drive either of the two luxury coaches parked in the garage. The only person who got anything near star treatment was the owner (who has not had the courtesy to reply to our letter of complaint). Do yourself a favour and stay away from Raouf Hotels International. Sharm el Sheik is great, but in spite of the best efforts of staff on the ground Star /Moon /Sun hotels are best avoided.
