Agree completely with the other review, the location of the delightful Ty-Pesketer holiday house is superb, with all the amenities, activities and life you could ever wish for, all in a secluded & private bay. The owners give more of themselves than we have ever experienced; always willing to offer ideas, help, even entertain the children while we enjoyed the sun. As for the cooking, we took advantage of Geoff's very reasonably priced evening meal offer and tooked into the best seafood meal I have ever eaten - the sea bass au gratin with cherries and garlic was devine. Certianly recommend anyone with a med to large family or group - it's a fun party place with a laid back vibe.

Between our holiday house at Ty-Pesketer and the beach was the coastal path. Well signed and well- maintained, this made for an exhilarating change of pace. The cleverly-contoured two acres which came with our Brittany holiday home did me (and the rest of us) just fine. We had turned the holiday into something of a family gathering and, by the end of the week, we'd probably added a couple more to the clan in the guise of watercolour artist Jane and enthusiastic fisherman Geoff, the Bramfitts. They owned our place, and lived just around the corner - en route to our beach. I say 'our beach' because it was just 30 seconds down the winding lane (a bit longer coming back, of course) and never had much more than a handful of others sharing the space. It was sandy, sheltered, clean, and had the added benefit of some smashing rock pools. And a resident seal. Now, given the vistas on offer, even while reclining in Ty-Pesketer's master bedroom or the jumbo tub of its master bathroom across the landing, you really, actually, had no need to move over much. Just lie back at ty-Psketer, soak up the marvellous panoramas, and send someone else into town for the croissants. I say, you could do that. We didn't. We only lounged about during some rare quiet moments, actually. For a start, Geoff, resident in these parts for 17 years, is as enthusiastic about fishing as he is about Breton life in general. So he cajoled all of us into complimentary fishing trips. I managed to get a pass for six hours or more, returning from a nautical point somewhere off the ferry port of Roscoff with some tasty red gurnard and mackerel for tea. On another occasion my 2 young daughters joined us for a spot of crab-pot emptying. And on more than one occassion we ventured out before dawn had even risen, bleary-eyed, for a sea-borne adventure in Geoff's fishing boat. It was wonderful. And Ty-Pesketer's holiday options don't stop there, either. There was the previously mentioned pitch-and-putt. There was the mini football pitch. Not forgetting the boules court, table tennis, badminton court, darts, mountain bikes, canoes and dinghy. There was even a cooling plunge pool and sun-trap deck. We discovered Ty-Pesketer through the Owners In France holiday accommodation network, which is packed with hundreds of homes to let, dealing direct with the owners. It's a system which definitely helps you tailor a vacation home to suit you and you can contact the owners, too, to ask questions about the place, its location and the myriad other things which crop up ahead of a holiday. Likewise, Geoff has his own web site with more information and pictures. The other good thing about the Owners In France organisation is that it also has special travel arrangements with Brittany Ferries for those who book with them. For all of us the welcome we received at Ty-Pesketer, from Geoff and Jane, was confirmation that this is, indeed, a good way of finding exactly the place you want to stay.
