I can't understand why they say le Grand Chalet because it certainly wasn't big or grand. It smelt of poo in the corridors, our blankets had mothballs on them and there was no kettle. The staff were rude and ignorant and there was a little T.V. that didn't work. There was only one (little spar) shop around the corner and the price of everything was unbelievable, a pint was €8!!! Each day there was a 30 minute queue to get on to the Gondola and 30 mins to get up to Meribel. All people going there listen to me, pack as much food as possible e.g. pasta, rice, crisps... and bring toilet paper. I wouldn't go there again for definite!!!

This was out first time skiing. I went with my boyfriend and we are in our 20s. We stayed in the Le Grand Chalet, Brides-les-Bains. The picture that they have of this hotel is not it. It is not in the moutains but on a street corner. There was very little amenities with only 3 pubs, 3 restaurants and 1 food shop. The food was nice but there wasn’t a big section and if you wanted to go for a drink after all the pubs close at 12:30. You could go to the Casino pub for a drink but the actual casino was membership only. We stayed in what was the worst hotel in the world and I have stayed in a lot of hotels. The staff in our hotel were extremely ignorant while checking in and out and did not accept cash for the deposit which was were not told about before travelling. They were so slow using the computer and made such a fuss about the cash on the first morning that we missed our first skiing lesson. The cleaning staff were even worse and talked about us in French under there breaths. The toilet was disgusting and smelt of sewage with a big brown stain above your head in the shower. Our rooms were not cleaned and on checkout there sent us back to our room 3 times to scrub the floors and shower room and fold the blankets edge to edge. We felt like were back in school being told what to do‼‼‼‼ We rented our skis in Ski Set by the gondola but the people in the rental shop were ridiculously ignorant. The owner had a huge fight for all to see with one English customer renting his skis. The gondolas took 30 mins to get to the top and then there was a short but slippery walk to the slops. The only good thing about the whole holiday was the skiing. I would not advise anyone to go skiing in this resort. EVER‼‼‼
