Just back today after a fantastic week with my partner , 6 and 4 yr old kids. Kids club was bril, food was good, staff were young but keen, polite and helpful. Skiing all day then the pool and sauna as the sun set!! no probs on the last day, we went down and had lunch in morzine. The hotel staff dropped off the bags 5 minutes before the bus left. If you want to be in the middle of a resort and expect luxury do not go to the viking. If u want a good value, child friendly holiday with doorstep skiing get yourself there. Forgot to mention, there is a second bar with a wii, pool table etc downstairs that the families with kids went to in the evening - a godsend.

Le Viking Hotel, Morzine - Smith. Date of travel: Jan 2008
Le Viking Hotel is positioned in a prefect spot. Child care very good, girls full of fun and very friendly. Needed to sort out all other aspect of the hotel, managment very young and inexperienced as is the rest of the staff. Whilst we were there the fire alarm went and none of the staff seemed to know what they were to do. We moved outside from the bar and only the child care girls followed all other staff stayed inside and just carried on as if the alarm was not going. Be aware if you have an afternoon flight home - you will be stuck in the hotel, no provisions were made (or would be made) by the hotel to get a temp lift pass so you can do that last bit of shopping. You could get down but not back up again.
