First of all the area La Chapelle should be called La Crap-hell.The place is dismal and grubby and the people look like they came from anywhere but France. The Hotel Merryl is a hole.The carpets up the stairs are grubby and old, as are the rooms themselves.The rooms are like shoeboxes.The decor is tatty. The bed base was broken, the paintwork was chipped, cracked and rotten. It you're anything other than slim, you can forget trying to fit into the shower ,which also had broken doors. The wood covering the pipework was broken and needed repairing. I think you will get the picture. I wouldn't suggest staying here if this was the last place on earth after a nuclear explosion, and they had the last pieces of food and water!! Tour Operator: own arrangements
