Green Turtle Lodge, Ghana
Holiday in Ghana - Paul Dicks. Date of travel: Oct 2007
Ghana is one of only a few English speaking countries in Africa making it a little easier to navigate. This is also why there are a number of holiday lodges set up and run by ex-pats. The Green Turtle Lodge is an eco-friendly paradise run with both luxury and the environment in mind. Named after the local sea turtles who hatch along the coast the lodge provides a fantastic place to stay for visitors and a infrastructure that helps the local villages. The lodge is run by ex-pat Brits and the food and bar facilities are awesome. Happy hour every day sets off the nightly party and the breakfasts help you to recover the next day. LOcated about 150kms along the coast from Accra it can be reached by public transport.

Either camping or staying in the bungalows the standard of accommodation is excellent, the food is fantastic and the scenery amazing. If you come at the right time of year you can watch the baby turtles make their way from the beach to the sea.
