I do not understand the negative comments above regarding Lake Point Guesthouse
Lake Point Guesthouse was excellent. Restful, clean, good showers, kind people at Lake Point Guesthouse. My husband and I stayed there in Dec. 2009 and we enjoyed the tranquility so much we extended our stay. Food preparation in Ghana is slow but that is life. Order well in advance for dinner or breakfast and there will be no delays. I highly recommend this place. We even swam in the sacred Lake Bosumtwi.

The only black spot in a wonderful travel around Niger, Burkina, Benin, Togo and Ghana was the Lake Point Guesthouse. The owners consider that waiting one hour for just two coffees is something you have to bear because you are in "their property". After that, you have to pay for services you have not received if you do not want to see your car smashed by the mad beast who claims to be the owner. Nasty service... a dangerous place. They do not even have clean sheets and blankets in the rooms.

Lake Point Guesthouse is owned by an Austrian/Ghanaian couple. After a stressful travel from north, our arrival was 10pm, a very warm welcome from the hosts checked in. The rooms was very clean. We took a shower and that time, Nana started to cook for us. We order Tiger prawns and Baracuda Steak, I can say this was the really best and delicious food on our trip. The following days we enjoyed the beach in a hammock and in the evening in the bar, the atmosphere was great and we prolonged our stay from 2 to 4 days.
