Unforgettable Villa Arethusa (One of Paleo Villas) - Phil & Lin. Date of travel: Jun 2008
Villa Arethusa is a stunning villa set on a hillside with views across to Zante. Excellent accommodation with three en suite bedrooms, one on ground floor and small downstairs loo. Fantastic pool with built in high powered jets similar to a Jacuzzi, well fitted kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher. The villa was a bit remote, you must have a car to access the property, but it’s only 10-15 minutes from Skala and five minutes from a nearby beach. Just the two of us went for two weeks in June 2008 and really wanted to stay longer! Very relaxing and you can do what you want to do. There are villas nearby and two are almost finished. We would this recommend this accommodation to everyone.

The villas are located above Skala up a steep hill. They are accessed via a narrow cement road. The views from the villas are beautiful. Villa Athena the villa we were in was 2 bedroomed and well equiped. It had a flat screen TV, Sky box and DVD. The infinity pool was lovely and there were plenty of sunbeds, chairs and tables outside. Skala about 4km away. The taverna advertised in the Thomson brochure as being 500m away was in fact 2.3kms away and not yet opened. Need a car to get around. Went with Thomsons, no local support only a 24hr British helpline which left you hanging on for ages at a vast cost. Took 5 days to get air conditioning working. Over all the villas are lovely but we were let down by Thomson the holiday company that took us there.
