We spent a week at the end of September/early October in the Coral hotel at Roda, and at a cost of approx 250 GBP each for bed and breakfast it was excellent value! We were not at all sure what to expect for this money but we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our holiday. The Coral is a small, friendly, family run hotel right on the seafront and within easy, level walking distance of the main area of Roda town. Roda is little more than a fishing village and if you want shops, bars, restaurants there are lots of them close to the hotel but far enough away not to be annoyed by noise etc. The hotel is right on the edge of the sea, but if you want to sunbathe you have to walk about 100 yards in either direction to find a sandy area. You can also see across to Albania from the hotel (take a trip too if you want to book one with the agent or others in Roda). Our room in the Coral was in the annexe behind the swimming pool and to be honest it had seen better days, but as the whole block is due for refurbishment at the end of this season it should be in line with the rest of the hotel by 2009. The bedlinen and towels were all very tatty but I am sure this will be rectified when the place has been done up. The main part of the hotel has already been totally refurbished and the restaurant and bar and lounge areas are very smart and comfortable. Dining overlooking the sea as the sun sets over Albania is a delight. The food in the Coral is varied on the evening menu and very good value and we ate in the hotel several times. They also do a Special for Ä13 which was 3 courses. There is a bar area in the main restaurant which seemed to be full of Brits watching football on the big screen telly some evenings. Apparently throughout the main season there is also evening entertainment but we only went to the Greek night which was good value and good fun! We didn't sit in the bar area very often mainly because of the smokers who puffed away chain smoking all evening! Not sure when Greek law prohibits smoking indoors but hopefully it will be soon!!!!! The pool area is quite small and I am not sure if this would get overcrowded in the height of summer. There are lots of sunbeds and a bar and it was very relaxing just to sit around and talk to fellow guests. Breakfast was a big disappointment, the only thing I could really fault about the hotel. The choice was very limited, with no fresh fruit only tinned peaches every day, choice of 2 or 3 cereals, toast and jam/marmalade, watery juice and disgusting coffee/tea, oh and cake and bread too. Although if you paid extra you could have boiled or poached eggs etc. If you are one of the Brits who go on holiday to have an English breakfast and fish and chips or pie and chips for main meals, and sit in a bar smiling and watching footie all day, then you will find this in Roda. BUT there is also lots for those of us who go on holiday to experience the culture of the country we are visiting! It is a small friendly place and a good venue for a relaxing holiday. There are numerous Greek restaurants in Roda, our favourite without a doubt was the Roda Park where the waiters livened up the evening and the food was excellent! True Greek experience and not too expensive either. If you do go to Roda make sure you take plenty of mosquito repellent and buy one of the plug in repellents for your room. If you can't find one in the UK then they sell them in the supermarkets there. I would recommend the Coral hotel for couples of all ages, not sure it would be good for children as they would easily get bored as there is no play area or anything for them in the hotel. There is a book exchange and you can have Internet access if you pay extra. Also air conditioning (which we did not need) is charged extra.

The Coral hotel is a great little 2* Hotel. Nothing too fancy, just good plain value for your money. The beach is very near (<5 min. to walk for sunbathing, <10 sec. to get to the water). The inside pool is also great, so if you don't feel like bathing in the sea, it's a very nice alternative (and the umbrellas+chairs are free of course).

I loved the Coral Hotel in Corfu! It was perfect for people who want to do a spot of sunbathing or just generally chill out! I loved all the staff, especially Nikos. He was fun and constantly making people laugh. George was brilliant, too, as was Pasos, Carolina and Theo. I enjoyed everything about the holiday and Nikos was the main focus and made the holiday enjoyable. I would love to go back there next year!

Hotel Coral is excellent
The Coral Hotel was excellent - great staff who were incredibly friendly. Lovely swimming pool with plenty of free sunloungers and a snack bar with great ice creams. Bar is great overlooking the sea with comfortable chairs and great company. I went as a single parent and was not treated differently for being alone. Roda is great too with some really friendly bars and restaurants and only a short walk away. I have rebooked for 2008 and am really looking forward to going back and seeing everyone.

Greece
The Coral Hotel was amazing. The best place ever. The rooms were lovely and clean. The air con was a good price. The staff were excellent, especially Nikos. He was simply the best. Loved all staff, George (of the jungle ), Dimitrius, Dasos, Freddy, Barry, Carolina And The boss, Mr Nikos and his wife. They also have a Greek night every Thursday and it is amazing. I would recommend to anyone for relaxing by the pool, a fun holiday or a bit of both. Going to miss everyone. Hope to return next year.

Our holiday at the Coral Hotel was one of the best ever with great food, nothing to complain about service wise, enough people spoke English that were staying with us, so as to ensure we all had a good time. The rooms were clean and the weather was great. I would happily return tomorrow.
