Situated on the north short of Crete, near Gouves, Astir Beach Hotel is a modern hotel which offers a swimming pool and kids playground. The hotel is popular with German holidaymakers and is 15km from the island’s capital Heraklion. The beach is close by.more

You'd be better practising you German over your Greek on a holiday in Astir Beach. The staff were unfriendly, the guests were worse, the weather was bad and the food was too (when it eventually arrived). Apart from the barman, who was truly enthusiastic, I would have to say that the Astir Beach has a long way to go.
