Before we went, there weren't many reviews for Zouboulia or pics, but was really pleased when we arrived. It was really clean and spacious, air conditioning was a godsend (would have been lost without it). No cockroach problems as some reviews stated! We were on the 1st floor which had slightly bigger rooms than ground, but overall a very nice place to stay. Dino, the owner was really friendly and is a very hard worker. The hotel is situated literally 2 mins walk to the bars (Bar Street) & restaurants (beach front) and once on the beach front only another minute walk to the beach and McD's for your pre-hangover burger. We were situated perfectly and would definitely stay there again.

Seven of us went to Zouboulia in July, we are going again this year, possibly the most banter producing apartments in the whole of Greece. Dino was incredible, although fell out with us. The bar by the pool served amazing food. Would recommend egg and chips, tuna baguette, pint of coke or a milkshake. Pool available for either Metro ball or Ske-im ball in the evenings when it's quiet. Then start drinking and having banter before heading out to the bars, also right near status so perfectly situated. Also a short walk from McDonalds in the evening or for very late breakfast the place next door for an amazing full English breakfast.

Zouboulia has to be one of the best in Kardamena. Dino does work extremely hard in pleasing his guests. The pool is clean and big enough for a splash to cool off. There's a kiddie pool adjacent to the main pool and my daughter loved it. The pool toilets are in superb condition and would put some UK public toilets to shame. The apartments are good, if not basic, but they're ok to just sleep in and have a shower. Never had any problems with bugs and have stayed at Zouboulia twice now. Its location is excellent with everything close by, though latenight moped activity can be a nuisance by locals. The church nearby rings the bells on a Sunday morning so anyone wanting a lay-in beware. I would recommend Zouboulia to all age groups, but would probably say that early and late season would be best for those who are family orientated or of mature age as it can be a bit loud with younger guests arriving home from partying. Have booked 2 weeks in Zouboulia for next June '08.

We have been to the Zouboulia in Kos for the last two years in May and are going again this May. We have gone in groups of 6 to 8 people and have had the funniest times with Dino who runs the place. Our rooms have been spotless and the cleaner came in every day. It is in a great position, only minutes from anywhere and we had many a late night in Boozers Bar. The pool is absolutely spotless with snacks and a bar by the pool. We met lots of people and from what we saw and heard the Zouboulia is one of the better apartments. We would definitely recommend it.

This email is regarding the email Gill sent giving the bad review on the accommodation: I dont think it was a five star hotel. For a start if you look in the brochure its rated not by stars, and it did not cost a lot of money as me and my friends paid £347 for this place for 14 nights. The staff there were lovely and the pool was great; yeah there were cockroaches but only if you killed the first one that was in your room, as this attracts more, so a little tip for the future do not kill them, just get them out!!!! The rooms are basic but hey what do you expect: it is Greece and they have never been up to date with toilet systems and cleanliness. I know this through going to these islands a lot. So Gill next time read the brochure correctly, and anyone considering going here for a nice relaxing cheap holiday this is the apartments I would recommend! Tour Operator: Manos

Zoulboulia hotel is the worst place we have ever stayed - Apartment was filthy when we got there. We had to involve the Manos Rep and get it cleaned and even then it was not clean. Bathroom was filthy, had to have the shower cable changed because it was covered all the way up in green and black mould. A wall light was the only electric in the bathroom and it had open wiring. We had to buy 3 light bulbs for the main room cos none worked. The kettle was turned on by hitting it with a wooden spoon and then getting a towel to pull the plug out from the socket which came out with it. The bedlinen was stained very badly and the mattress was not worth even thinking about. Sheets and towels where changed twice in 2 weeks and the towels had nothing left of them and were only hand towels. This was supposed to be a five star hotel. The COCKROACHES shared the room and in 14 days we killed 30 of them after investing in 4 tins of spray and blocking the door to stop them coming in and keeping the plug holes blocked. THIS WAS A FIVE STAR HOTEL - and cost us loads of money - DO NOT GO TO THE ZOUBOULIA. Tour Operator: Manos
