The owners are great but they are getting a bit greedy this year which is a shame as nothing else in Kefalos has gone up in the last 4 years. The safety deposit boxes are a rip-off at 25 euros for 2 weeks and the facilities in the apartments are basic. We have stayed there 5 times but will stay elsewhere next year due to lower cleaning standards and high prices.

The pool area is always clean and quiet. This is not a resort for the 18/30 crowd which is why it's so nice. Freshly cooked food and its always tasty and cheap.

I have returned to the Mayflower II Studios over the last eight years. The place is great, quiet and best of all a well stocked supermarket is on your door step. The complex consists of three separate blocks of apartments namely PEROS, MAYFLOWER I AND MAYFLOWER II. Peros and Mayflower I sleeps up to two persons and have a kitchen area and bathroom with shower. MayflowerII has slightly bigger rooms with three beds. All properties benefit from a balcony and you don't miss the sun!! You can lounge about the pool, in the sun loungers provided or have something to eat at the snack bar or even a pint! The apartments are very safe and secure and is owned by one family, although the blocks of apartments are split between three family members. There are safety deposit boxes for hire together with fans, but really there is no need to hire a box because the apartments are so safe and one of the owners are always about out their family members. It would be wise to hire a fan in the hotter months and these are good to keep mozzies and the like away. You can also benefit from the free local fruit on offer and you may find the odd pommegranet tree outside your apartment, or grapes and even vegetables which are grown in small plots between the apartment blocks and they are used in the food, so you cannot get fresher food. Just ask for some pumpkin or courgette fritters they are great! Rooms are cleaned on a regular basis together with sheets and towels also being changed. I certainly would highly recommend this the PEROS/MAYFLOWER to anyone, just mention Scottish Yianni told you and you will be sure to get an even bigger smile on welcome. Guests to these apartments are normally return guests, returning year after year. I would not say that this place would suit small toddlers, although their is a paddling pool joined to the main pool (which must be the cleanest kept in Kefalos), the age group for here would be 18+ without kids, unless they were in their teens. I was there September/October, 2008.

We found the Mayflower II Studios in Kefalos to be just far enough from the not so busy main road and near enough to all the amenities.

The self-catering apartment was very clean and we were upstairs so we had a balcony looking out on the garden with sunflowers and lemon trees/bushes. The pool at the apartments was good and you could get snacks etc whenever you needed them. Tour Operator: Olympic
