Hotel Lisa is dated, scruffy, in the middle of no mans land and the hospitality could have been far better.... would not return to this hotel even if paid. The rooms were dark, cramped, the air conditioning which we paid 50 for did not work properly despite numerous complaints and when we informed the hotel manager he looked at us as if we should not expect anything more. unless spending a fortune at the hotel he did not want to know. As leaving he even commented on the fact we had not spent enough at his hotel but frankly we could not wait to get out every morning. As for breakfast....a joke!!!

The hotel is situated up a dusty dirt road, which took us 15mins to walk. The room was small considering that it was a self catering studio. The kitchen was a two ring hot plate with a frying pan and saucepan. The cutlery drawer could only be reached by standing on the stool as it was so high up on the wall. The bathroom left a lot to be desired and it would have been nice to have had matching towels. On our last day we had to vacate the room by midday, or we could have paid 40 to keep the room. As we didn't think that we should pay the extra night fee we went out for most of the day. Just be prepared to sit out till the early hours of the morning in the dark. The host was only interested in you if you spent all your time at he hotel. On the plus side the pool was clean and a nice size. Couldn't fault it!!

Situated on the outskirts of nowhere, the Hotel Lisa offers very basic accommodation. Consisting of small dark dingy room, prehistoric washing facilities and an infected mat, old bed and beautiful mustard coloured mugs and lampshade. Breakfast is served between 8 and 9. You will recieve 1 bun, 3 small toast, 1 hard thing and butter. Enough to stuff you up for the day. Enjoy!

I do love Rhodes, we have been there twice. We will be going there again this year, we stay in the Hotel Lisa, the place is lovely and clean, the owners are lovely, Michael [the owner] Greg, his Brother-in-law, and Lisa, Michael's sister, there is also George, Michael's dad, who use to own the hotel and of cause Michael's mom, they are a lovely family, and I would recommend The Hotel Lisa to anyone.

I loved it at the Hotel Lisa, the owners were really nice and I am going there again this year. As it says in the brochure, it is a good base camp. You pay for what you get. The hotel is near Ixia and around 30 minutes from the resort of Trianda where there are some shops, bars, restaurants and tavernas. There is a shingle beach around 30 minutes walk from the Hotel Lisa. Note that the hotel is not suitable for the elderley.

Our holiday was ruined by the owner who tried to brow beat anyone who didn't stay at his hotel to spend every hour there. We and quite a few other folk asked to be removed but our tour people said there was no more vacancies on the island but could move at our own expence. I thought I was going to a 2 star experience but boy did I get a shock. We had a inland view. ie. a concrete wall. Then over that a tip of sorts. The B&B was startling. First day was big breakfast day. One thin piece of cheese, 1 thin piece of ham, 2 bread buns of the crusty sort, thereafter the buns deteriorated daily until unedible, also no cheese or ham again til Sunday, that's when the new arrivals got their first breakfast. You will be told that the baker leaves the bread during the night but to be totally honest the bread couldn't deteriorate to a soft crinky object in such a short period of time. People just stop coming down for breakfast or came and wasted the food. Don't expect choices there. Take it or leave it. One outstanding comment from the owner was I don't bother learning the names of people who go out to other places, just the good customers who stay every night and day there. We also asked if there was a bus service to Filamiros. We were told no. There was. I can only say it was clean. Other holidaymakers were very good, but 1 older chap wanted to start an escape committee. He wasn't joking. Please make up your own minds but I will go back to Rhodes, but never dreamt that I would be treated like a dog by the owner. My crime was to ask for a fridge.

We have just returned from the Lisa Hotel. We enjoyed every moment there. We found the staff very helpful and willing to help to arrange taxis for evenings out. Would definitely return in the future. Very friendly atmosphere within the staff and met some very nice people who have become great friends.

I have read many reports about the Hotel Lisa, some good some bad. I went there in July 07 on a whim 2 days notice. It was a 2 Star hotel with a 5 star attitude to its customers. Michael (the owner) and Goerge (son) were fantastic both would squeeze blood from stones to ensure you enjoy yourselves. Yes the hotel is basic but wow what a time you can have there. It was a full mix of both old and young people. Whilst I was there nobody had a bad time we all met in the bar after going out at night and had a great time. The effort the staff put in to keep us happy will be repaid I am going back and would get all my friends to go there as well. Its not posh, its not flash, its not the most desirable hotel in Rhodes but it made me very happy. The only way not to enjoy yourself is to be Victor Meldrew or a complete winger. Well done michael and thank you.
