Well worth paying the extra to stay on the 'inside' of the island. The views from the villas are spectacular, but not for the faint hearted or those not prepared to walk. There is a 900 foot drop from the balcony to the sea, and to get to the villas involves a walk along several steep and winding paths. But it is worth it.
Try the Blue Note cafe a short distance away, the owners live in Tarpon Springs in Florida, another of our 'haunts'. The service was excellent and it has some of the best views on the island.
