Much improved compared to previous comments. Rooms cleaned almost daily. Pool area with lots of new beds and large umbrellas. Bar still expensive. Not suitable for those with walking difficulties. A really nice ambience built in olive and almond grove, trees restrict view. We would recommend it highly BUT is rather a drag to get to Skopelos as ferry bookings are timed to allow for possible flight delays (our return flight to Newcastle was delayed 4 hrs so door to door was 18 hrs). Probably would not go again because of travelling time and NOT because of any probs with accommodation, which was really good.

Our apartment had a wonderful view over the bay and was clean when we arrived, however it was downhill from then on. Our rooms were not cleaned at all during our one week stay apart from a daily visit to empty the bins. We had no clean sheets or towels. We even had to provide our own loo roll when the one provided ran out! There was no air conditioning despite the website saying that there was and when we enquired about a fan we were told they were for hire at €15. There were no basics available on site so if anyone arrived very late even water wasn't available until the next day. However the nearest supermarket was open till after midnight and you could arrange for them to deliver to your apartment. The pool bar was open on the evening of the Friday we arrived and never opened again. As the barman also cleaned the pool, by the end of our stay it was getting decidedly leaf strewn. Half the sunbeds also had broken slats. Many of the lights both in the apartment and around the complex didn't work. Apart from all that we had a great holiday!

The Evlalia studios & apartments offer typical basic Greek accommodation, located some 20 minutes walk from Skopelos town. Consisting of two blocks of apartments, set in a garden/olive grove and offer stunning views across the Skopelos bay and town. The accommodation has a great pool/bar area with ample sun beds and sheltered seating. Only the upper 3rd floor apartments had air conditioning, but these apartments were rented out privately (to Greeks) by the owner and were not available to Kosmar guests. I stayed at the accommodation for 14 nights during the main holiday period and our rooms were only cleaned once (and that was only after other guests complained). The pool area was excellent but the bar was only open for a few hours per day and was drastically overpriced. Unfortunately the pool bar closed at 8.30pm, which left no area for guests to socialise or congregate during the evenings. Good points ·Great elevated position offering great views across the bay towards the town. ·Nice relaxing atmosphere. ·Great pool area with ample sun beds & umbrellas Bad points ·No food available at pool bar or otherwise ·No Air-con or fans available ·No cots available ·No deposit boxes available ·Over priced and poorly stocked bar ·Limited bar opening times resulting in the lack of social interaction between guests.

Kosmar have failed to market this complex properly. They don't show a photograph of the pool area in their brochure or the fantastic views of the town. The pool area was lovely. On the other hand the rooms were pretty run down. No air con or fans to hire. Guests bought their own and passed them on. Cleaning left a lot to be desired but I was told this was because kosmar wouldn't pay the extra. Pool bar opened about 10.30 til 2pm then opened at 4, and closed at 8.30. Barman was young and inexperienced... hopeless at social graces. He didn't even know how to use a corkscrew!! Bar closing was very disappointing as it was quite a walk to the town and would have been much more sociable if the bar had stayed open. Poor attitude towards Kosmar guests by owners. The nearest supermarket was too far away. I can't understand why the owners don't open their own mini market. They'd make a fortune! There was loads of land/ space in complex. Strange really that they didn't seem to be bothered. They weren't as friendly as the Greek people we've met in the 20 plus years we've beeen holidaying in Greece. Such a shame they don't seem to want to make the best of what must be one of the best locations on the island.

The Evlalia apartments are in blocks and dotted around quite a big site, on a hillside overlooking Skopelos Town. The views are amazing, the best we have had. It is peaceful at the apartments but you can hear the church bells from the town just over the horeshoe shaped harbour. The walk into town took us about 10-15 minutes and that was at a stroll pace. The apartments were clean and comfortable. The pool was clean and a nice size, but unfortunatley a downside was the pool bar not being open very often. It depended upon the amount of people around the poolside, on whether the owner would open the bar and only drinks and a few snacks were available. The nearest shop is about 10 minutes walk away, which is fine, but going back to the rooms is uphill and carrying shopping uphill in the heat can be draining, we thought it would be better if there was an option to eat at the apartments, or at least buy some basic foods ie. bread, milk, fruit and water - we did tend to pick food/water up on our way back from town in the evenings when it was cooler. Apart from that, the location was fine, the setting was lovely and the rooms comfortable. There was an option to hire for free, a fan and a kettle if you dont want to stick with just a pan to boil water. Extra pillows are available too. One thing to watch, if you have the sea-cat to travel over and you suffer from sea-sickness, take some tablets before hand. Both myself and my dad were quite ill going over, which spoiled the trip and arrival in Skopelos, we both had a couple of hours sleep when we first arrived, due to the sea-cat being so low on the water. Not very nice and the sea wasnt really that rough, but we wouldnt have noticed it on the ferry!
