My wife and I have just returned from 3 months in Goa where we spent the first 3 weeks in the Xavier Beach Resort in Candolim. This is a nice hotel, run by Prem and Nutan Kohli, which has an excellent kitchen. Nutan is British and she ensures that the standards are what our stomachs need to ensure we hang on to them! The hotel is typically Goan-Portuguese style and has a really super staff who can't do enough for you. They also have a young Alsation dog who provides the cabaret from time to time! After our 3 weeks were up there we moved out to a flat which is at the back of the Alor Grande hotel complex in Candolim. It was a big flat with a living room, seperate shower room and toilet, single bedroom and basic kitchenette. Amazingly, it also had Sky TV! It is owned by an English lady who now lives in Goa. She bought 2 flats and now rents one out.
