Heritage Homestay, Kerala
Must Stay Heritage Homestay in Kerala - Steve & Linda Solomon. Date of travel: Nov 2007
Though Kerala is a land of greenery and canals, it was our first experience with our homestay in Kerala that took us by surprise. Excellent in every way. I strongly recommend The Bungalow Heritage Homestay to anyone who would like to share a family atmosphere of Kerala.

Must Stay Heritage Homestay in Kerala
We were planning a fortnight long Holiday in Kerala and our first point of arrival in Kerala was Cochin. We were looking for a hotel to relax and spent two days at Cochin. We were looking for a hotel that is close to Fort Cochin. Our agent suggested an Heritage homestay at Vypeen right at the Harbor mouth and by crossing a five minutes ferry we will be right at Fort Cochin. Reluctantly we agreed. On Nov 26 2007 we arrived at The Bungalow Homestay. We were the first Guest they were having, as Homestay was opened in Nov 2007 itself. Hostess Neema and her family received us warmly. After a bit of rest, a rep from our travel agency took us out to Fort Cochin. From The Bungalow, two minutes by walk, we were at the Ferry to cross to Fort Cochin. Ferry crossing gave us splendid view of Vypeen on one side and Fort Cochin on the other. We could also see a ship passing by. The supper served by the hostess was excellent and she explained how she prepared these. After supper Neema and her husband took us all around their house. The House itself was worth seeing with Kerala style attic, Dutch style Second floor and Portuguese style First floor (they call it as ground floor). Next day our children became so close to the daughter of our Host, they started playing around in their Lawn. Love & affection shown and the food prepared by Neema and her family were so over whelming, when we departed on Nov 28, we felt as if we were saying goodbye to our own family members. While leaving my wife asked Neema why don't you advertise your Homestay? Neema said; though we have a website, the word of mouth by our guests about The Bungalow is the strongest mode of advertisement than any other mode. As we got into car, to go to Munnar, my wife told Neema; reluctantly we came and it turned out to be an excellent surprise. Warm memories of The Bungalow will remain in our memories.
