The Kadaloram Beach resort is a good nice, small and comparitively costly hotel... I been there this Dec-07 and it cost me Rs 20000 for 6 night stays including only breakfast. It's located 5 minutes away from beach and a very good hotel with only 21 rooms. However since it's 4 km away from main Kopvalam beach i.e. light house it' may become a little boring if you want to spend more than 2 nights there. However the hotel itself is good when compared to other hotels in main Kopvalam with a nice relaxed environment and a good pool.

Me and my family stayed at Kadaloram Beach Resort sometime back, very poor service standards, absolutely no hospitality rendered, and the manager was sort of, "take what I offer you or leave" kind of attitude. I suggest you visit Udaya Samudra before booking here and decide for yourself. I had stayed in Udaya Samudra around 1 year back and found it to be truly professional.
