Just back from Muckross Holiday Homes in Killarney, Kerry. The houses are very clean and accessible but the houses were very cold. we arrived on Thursday 10/04/08 to a freezing house with no hot water. this is my second time staying at this accommodation and I was so shocked that the house was so cold myself and my 5 children went to bed where the bedrooms were like the Antarctic. I had to sleep in my clothes. We went to Kerry for a family wedding and a group of us stayed in these houses. One of my brothers had to go home early because his 5 week old baby and his 1 year old baby were getting colds from being in the houses. We got up on Saturday morning for the wedding and had to drive to various hotels to have warm showers. After all of this we were charged just over €60 for electric. When we complained at reception we were asked why we hadn't come and reported the lack of heating the night we checked in. After driving for 5 hours in the car from Dublin with 5 children the last thing I wanted was confrontation with anyone. We paid €1000 for these houses for four days I thought the owners might have had the decency to have a house fit to be occupied ready for us.
