Jaccarino or Iaccarino hotel is about 20 mins by bus from the heart of Sorrento in the village of Sant’Agata. Not much goes on in the evening there but a pleasant village. The last bus from Sorrento is 11 p.m. so avoid this hotel if you seek night-life. Old fashioned hotel with dark rooms, antique furniture and bathrooms which I personally hated but others loved. We paid for a sea view and were put in an attic with no balcony so had to pay 20 euros per day extra for a balcony which we thought was included so beware! The back views are horrible so you just HAVE to pay for a view. Most people seemed to go on trips almost every day so the pool was very quiet. Towels provided but a Coke cost 3.50 euros. The hotel has a mini-bus SERVICE – not a courtesy bus – which costs 5 euros each way. The local bus costs 1 euro and stops outside the hotel or in the village, a few minutes walk away! Can’t understand how this hotel merits 4*. By Spanish standards it would be 2/3*. Most people we spoke to liked the hotel but I would not go back. We met lovely people as it’s a very friendly hotel and I DID enjoy my holiday – just hated going to my room!!!
