I have two important criteria when staying at a hotel: Comfortable bed and a working shower - nothing else matters if the hotel cannot get these two items right. This hotel receives a ZERO in both these categories. I understand the whole push two twin beds together for a double (in Europe), but the beds were awful. Using summer camp cot-like spring frames and three-inch thick cardboard mattresses does not sit well with me for a $150/night hotel. It was like sleeping in a canoe. We would have left after the first night but had five nights booked through Orbitz and could not leave. My second criteria, a working shower that drains, leaves me baffled that a hotel can not check the functionality of the drain itself. This is simple, turn the shower on, and see if the water goes down. If not, try a little Drano or Liquid Plumber, or pull the strainer and remove the hair clog. Standing in two inches of water at the end of your shower sucks. We looked into other rooms and those rooms had beds like ours also. It puzzles me that a hotel that charges $150/night can't invest 1 to 2 nights income on mattresses and box springs that are up to date. As for location - acceptable, get a bus pass - the bus stops 1-1/2 blocks away. 5-7 minute walk to the Coliseum. 15 minute walk to Termini train station (assuming you're not lugging bags). There are a couple of restaurants at the end of the block (burned pizza both nights). Room had A/C, ask the front desk for the A/C remote control. Internet point in hotel for $0.10 per minute, though no printer. Hotel has parking in its own courtyard. If you need a self-serve laundromat, there’s one about two blocks away, just ask the front desk for directions.

We had a guaranteed reservation, through Venare.com. When we arrived two weeks ago we were told that they had no room. Even when presented with the reservation they stuck to the no room. They offered the alternative of another room at another hotel. We had planned activities around the Edera and had no recourse but to go to the available room. After an all night flight we were not at our best-something the Edera seems to count on. Unfortunately our plans fell by the wayside. The other hotel was adequate but our experience in Rome was greatly altered. We would advise anyone considering this hotel to heed our warning. This is obviously a scam and you don't want to go through our experience.

This hotel is used as a bait for getting the rooms in other hotels in the chain of Leonardi hotels. This hotel is the closest to the city center and all of the tourist attractions and it will always have the rooms available, as long as other Leonardi hotels have rooms. You will pay for rooms, arrive and hotel will tell you about "booking mistake" and will transfer you to the hotel far away from the center. The other hotel will have the same star count as Edera, so there is no way to complain.

This was not a three star hotel - more like a two star at best. The lounge area was not air conditioned, the bar was never opened - the receptionist said it was just for show. The bathrooms were dirty and many of the fittings loose or broken. The hotel suffered from daily power cuts. No food or drink available during the day at all. Poor and very limited breakfast. NOT recommended. Tour Operator: Own
