The Scandanavia - Darran. Date of travel: Jan 2008
Well what can I say about this so-called hotel, to start it is an absolute tip, filfthy and very basic. When we arrived at the Scandanavia Hotel we where given room 33, it was very small, dark, and dirty. When we complained we where told that we had to let the energy saving lights a little time to light the room properly, anyway we where given the keys to room 28, an attic room and as above, I was furious my wife was in tears as it was a birthday treat for her, the staff were not very helpful also I forgot to mention there renovation work going on as well on the third floor, we had to trample through the builders at work. We left the hotel in disgust to take our mind off it. When we returned we were given another room no. 31 a bit better than the first two but cleaner. As for the breakfast processes tea and coffee from a machine and a tiny selection of cereals two bread rolls and croissants needless to say we did not bother about breakfast the rest of our sentence, I mean stay. On the up side of things it could not get any worse and the location was good and Venice is a beautiful city. I would not rule out another trip to Venice but with plenty of research into hotels.
