Cheap, clean and comfortable. 20 mins walk from old town. Don't walk back at night-TAXI all the way.

Basic but perfect in this way. Probably abit far out of town to walk to the bars but Taxis aren't as problem as long as you're careful not to get ripped off. They don't fancy putting the meter on much for tourists. The Hotel is in a strange area with quite a few vagrants walking the streets. Dawn of the Dead, bit like Vancouver. No bars within walking distance of th hotel.

I was a little concerned when following the directions on the map to get to the Dodo Hotel. It is located about 15-20mins walk from the old town and the area it is in is very run down and feels almost deserted. What a relief it was when this hotel finally revealed itself! It was a very new building that was in such stark contrast to the surrounding buildings. The reception staff were very friendly, and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the rooms. It was dirt cheap so I would definitely stay there again... if I were to go back (which I most definitely would not!) The only down side to this hotel is the location. I wouldn't want to walk home at night, but it is a quick tram ride to town or a 5LV taxi.

My favourite place to stay in Riga when I'm on business is the Dodo Hotel: cheap rate, comfortable room, convenient location, efficient staff and high end wifi Internet. Thank you Dodo hotel!

The rooms at Dodo Hotel are small but very cosy and with good atmosphere. I paid €39 for a double room (me and my girlfriend). I liked the intelligent design of the rooms, and especially the free wifi. Two floors were under works so some noise during the day but the hotel was still in finishing (fully opening in mid March) so I guess this is just temporary.

Check in was very quick and efficient (I paid in advance so I just had to sign the guest card and pick up the keys). Room is small but very well designed, and with warm colours. I liked the amenities (flat TV, free WIFI and even one hairdryer). All very clean.
The breakfast was great, nice pancakes. Location is ok, not far from center.
Price is really great for Riga. I would recommend to anyone on a budget looking for a nice place.
