The Holiday Villa Langkawi resort is located at the quieter end of the island, but still surrounded by fantastically priced restaurants and shops, as well as car and bike hire shops and a money-changer. Taxi is easily picked up from the resort foyer and prices are fixed to the various destinations. The pool area is the nicest I've seen- big and spread out, with a great spa and kiddies pool. Just beyond the pool area is the lovely beach- quite safe cos it's protected by an island not too far from shore. Hotel staff are very friendly and we were impressed with the lovely views from our room both times we've stayed there.
