We have been on holiday to Giravaru Island for the last few years and love it. The staff are wonderful, the beaches excellents and the snorkelling first-rate. The island is just 20 minutes from the airport by speedboat, which is a pleasure after the long flights from London. The decoration in the resort is a bit tired, but the service is excellent. We are already planning our next holiday to Giravaru Island Resort. Tour Operator: Emirates

I travelled with Cosmos, all inclusive, paid £4000 for 2 adults and 1 child......Giravaru Island was dirty particularly around the staff quarters and the kitchen area, the owner was arragant; it was not all inclusive but only limited on certain things such as full use of the beach and sea for diving extra, there was tennis but you could only use it if you had your own raquets and balls, the gym was for private use of the Italians; no water was available after 10 at night; there was no rep available at any time; the food was fish or bannanas breakfast diner and tea; afternoon snack was a choice of a 1 quarter cheese or tuna sandwich and that was all you could have, unless you paid for additional ones, mind you the food was not edible in most cases and most of us were food poisoned, possibly this was due to the rubbish atol opposite which burned the gargage at certain times of the day - then flies would decend on girravaru. The staff would then proceed in clouting us with clothes and newspapers to shoo them off and would even burn paper in the middle of our tables to prevent the flies bothering us........ I could go on and on, but i hold my hand up to the staff and the diving team they was visibly embarrased with there working conditions and did all they could to make our holiday as comfortable and as joyous as they could, all within their rules of employment, it was the owner management that let this atol down, the staff were under great tension with the owner particularly. It appeared that the owner came first and the guests were a hinderance and just in his way. For instance we would be playing pool, he would appear and we would be told to move off the table for him to use it. Also be careful when using facilities never pay up front and keep accounts on everything, we used the pool table approx four games a day and paid each time we got change from the shop to put in the table, hence paying for each game as we went, at the end of the holiday we had to collect our passports which were taken from us at the begining of our stay we were given a bill for £180, payment for the pool table which was billed to our room each game we played, it was apparrent then that this was the reason that after every game the bar man removed the money we put in for each game and could then calculate the amount of times we used the table, basically they charged us what they liked for any facilities we used. We had to pay all our dues in order to get back our passports. So be careful on Giravaru Island, don't get conned. Tour Operator: cosmos
