Way back in 1988 we won a 5day/4night trip to unknown territory…La Concha at La Paz. It was our first experience in warm ocean waters, our first Mexican vacation, and we were completely naive. The chef prepared our fresh catch for us, we enjoyed unknown non-alcoholic fruity drinks, the maids were unseen yet the room was spotless each day, the beach was cleaned and raked early every morning, the pool was refreshing, the staff was helpful in securing a snorkelling adventure to an island where we swam with seal lions (we were first-time snorkellers), we took a taxi (inexpensive) to town to do a little shopping and sightseeing, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Looking back, it was a fabulous vacation spot and we would love to return to La Concha someday!
