Wyndham Cozumel Resort & Spa seemed great the first night then it went straight downhill. You get badgered by sale of the hotel rooms when you get there, the beds are as hard as rocks, and we upgraded what a waste of money! For six nights they never fixed my hot tub, that was the idea of the upgrade and I complained nicely every day until the second to last day there, the manager (Carlos) was on duty I went to him and asked. He told me there was no problem with it and why did I not say something earlier...hmmmmmm. He snapped at me, that was the last straw I unloaded on him, he finally sent someone over and what do you know, it was broke. So I got one night of upgrade in. No refund just an argument with Carlos. Then when they tell you free snorkel equipment I guess they meant they try like heck to charge you for it. They even left me a phone message. Then stupid me we went back the next day to take out the free kayak. That turned into a 20 minute argument on us not being able to use it. I over heard and talked to several other people staying there and nothing but complaints. Wish I had known before I went.

I love to scuba dive and a group of 18 mostly couples booked 5 days at the Wyndham Cozumel Resort & Spa. All inclusive with three days of diving - we paid extra for more. (only 2 of the 11 dives were of medium quality... we kept hoping). Should I start at how when we showed up at the hotel they didn't have rooms ready for us and didn't know when they would. Should I mention the flies around the food. Or the extremely drunk deck hand on the night dive. Or the Wyndham time share salesman that tried to steal $35 from us. Oh if you like no pool towels and only two bathroom towels in your room you'll love it. It's a great place to lose weight because if you want a drink (even water) its a 30 minute wait. I sent the Wyndham company a letter detailing our experience and they replied it was a franchise and they are in no way responsible for how bad our experience was. The hotel manger did say sorry. But nothing else. Our letter was actually 3 pages long and we get a "Sorry". I will avoid the Wyndham chain completely. They don't care except they got my money. Avoid this place. Oh yeah the food was terrible besides the flies.
