Something all must read! My fiance and I were supposed to spend two nights at this hotel but our stay was unfortunately cut short! The first night we were there we put all our cash in our hotel room safety box and made sure to insert the six digit code that is required to open and close the box. The next morning, after having had dinner in Montecarlo the night before, we attempted to open our locker by using our secret code, but it would not go through. We proceeded by calling the front desk to see if they could send someone to fix the problem. In a short time, a staff member came to our room to check the safety box saying that it would not open because the batteries were dead and continued by replacing the safety box batteries. We stood and watched as he changed out the batteries. After the staff member left, we decided to count our money but discovered with surprise that 200 Euro was missing! After some minutes we concluded that it must have been our mistake and that we had just miscounted our money the day before when we checked in. That morning we left again to tour the city and placed the counted money in the safe box using the six digit number to close the box. When we got back to the hotel, we tried to open our safe box again using the six digit code but AGAIN the box would not open!!! So immediately we called the front desk, complaining for the second time that the code was not working and for them to please send someone to check the problem!. Just as the first time, we stood and watched as the guy tried to fix the box . The only way the hotel staff member can open the safety box is by a KEY! After the locker was supposedly fixed, we recounted the money and discovered with great alarm that another 100 Euro was gone!!!! A total of 300 Euro had disappeared from the pile of cash!! IMMEDIATELY we contacted the front desk and told them the situation. They spoke as though we made up the entire story and after waiting for more than an hour we were told that no way someone could have opened the locker stealing the cash. When we said we wanted to leave and not stay the second night because we felt violated and unsafe in their hotel, they attempted to make us pay for the second night! We of course refused and before leaving we were able to talk to the manager and doing so he confessed that others before us had complained of cash being “misplaced�. Beware of this hotel because we saw NO signs that this problem would be solved! We would hate to have this happen to someone else.
