My wife and I left Pretoria early in the morning on route to Maputu for a stop over then onto Chidenguele vilage and Paradise view respectively. The road from Pretoria is well marked through to Nelspruit (R180 Tollgate fees later) We got to the border and one of the locals came to assist me with paperwork (so worth the R50 spent). 15 minutes later I was in Mozambique and onward with the journey to Maputu. One thing I would advise is to keep to the speed limit and watch the guys on the highway on motorbikes with no helmets. I got to the Holiday Inn and the manager Bruce (best hotelmanager I have ever met) came to welcome us and got all our belongings sent up to the ocean facing air-conditioned room and invited us for a welcome drinks. The beer in Mozambique is like no other. Not too bitter and always ice cold seeing that it's always 100ºF (38ºC) outside. He told us about the surroundings and what eateries to try.
