Peaceful time in Refurbished Hotel - Mandy and Richie. Date of travel: Sep 2009
The Alcazar Hotel was completely refurbished in 2003 and is well worth its 3 star Classification. We had a nice room on the 5th floor although it was a bit of a trek to walk up when the lifts were busy.The room are simply but nicely furnished with air conditioning, mini bar, satellite television but for some inexplicable reason no kettle(disappointing). A clean bathroom in full working order. A good buffet breakfast with a choice for hot and cold dishes. Dining room does getting very busy and crowded after 9 o'clock. Evening entertainment was poor. Hotel was 90% couples over 40 and we would not suggest families staying here. Staff in the main were efficient if somewhat ultra formal.
