We went to Dusa Quintas in early March and had the perfect holiday for us. Our car (booked online) was waiting just outside the airport terminal, the guest-house an easy 4O -50 miles away. Duas Quintas was everything already mentioned in other reviews, Mary + Les - the owners - couldn't have been more hospitable and welcoming. The orange grove - blossom and fruit-laden - was gorgeous!. Four (and a half) of our six days were bright, warm and sunny and perfect for walking, the rest cloudy, with one brief shower, though pleasant enough. We easily reached six different walking areas within an hour or so's drive (fab scenery!), swam in the sea and Duas Quintas pool (cold but worth it in the sunshine). Bed and breakfast most comfortable and generous, eating out in the evening in local restaurants easy and cheap. Am fully recommending it to friends and hope they'll enjoy it sometime, as we hope to do again. Eluned & Owen (and Paul & Kate) Rook

If you want somewhere to totally chill and unwind then the Duas Quintas is the place for you. It is a beautiful house tastefully decorated keeping in character with the house. The owners are so friendly and accommodating. They will endeavour to make one's stay a happy one and their local knowledge is excellent, they will assist in any way they can. The house is in about 15acres of grounds which are beautiful with orange and lemon trees, and there is a lovely outdoor swimming pool aswell. The house is in a quiet area, you will need a bus or car to get to places, however, there is a bus stop about 10mins walk which will take you into Silves, a lovely town with quaint cobble streets, and has unique gift shops. Beaches are about 20-30mins drive away which are lovely. I went to Duas Quintas in Portimao with my mother and sister and all three of us had a wonderful stay. Will definatly return.

This place was beautiful. My favourite part was the pool which was surrounded by acres of orange trees. The bed and breakfast side is fantastic. The accommodation was clean and the owners were really friendly and we spent hours together chatting. They were very knowledgable about the area. The only downside was you couldn't book through any travel agencies and had to contact them through their website (find them on the internet) other than that great quality accommodation!

Having visited The Algarve for several years in a row I've had my fair share of both good and bad accommodation in the Algarve. However I just wanted to recommend probably the best guest house in the Algarve for Algarve holidays. Duas Quintas, an Algarve guest house near Silves is an absolute undiscovered gem. I booked through their website, www.algarveguesthouse.com, and was over the moon with everything from cleanliness to food and the rooms.
The rural guesthouse is a traditional Portuguese farmhouse that has been restored into a guesthouse. There are a few photos on the website but a trip there is definitely worth considering. The owners were all extremely knowledgable about the area, and set me off each day to discover the hidden secrets of the Algarve all the guidebooks have failed to discover.
Duas Quintas definitely deserves top marks as a guesthouse, especially as a rural guesthouse and I would recommend it to anyone planning an Algarve holiday.
