My husband and I booked a last minute holiday at the Clube Hotel Apartamento Do Algarve, having good knowledge of the local area. Whilst usually booking a villa or apartment and separate flights, the low cost of this last minute package holiday was a clear bonus. The Clube was a pleasant surprise having read mixed reviews online. We arrived late in the evening and did have some initial problems identifying our apartment number, but not a major issue. The room was spacious and very clean, as was the bedding, although the bed was somewhat hard. The kitchen was sparse in equipment if you were hoping to cook for a family. The rings on the cooker were limited to two and there was a timer on the wall which needed turning on before the cooker worked, this was a safety measure so the cooker could not be left on accidentally. On arrival we had no toaster, but upon enquiring the next morning, we had hardly returned to our room when a brand new toaster was duly delivered. The complex was clean, as were the pool areas etc. Some of the views from the balconies overlooking the pool were slightly obscured due to mature trees, but this may provide some privacy and shade for some. My only slightly negative comment if any, was that the complex appeared tired and in need of some TLC, but overall I was surprised at the standards for the low cost of the holiday, and the rooms if booked separately. Did not use the indoor pool or sauna, but these were well used by families. Pool bar provided a good service with prices in line with most bars in the area. Would certainly return to the Clube for a short break again.
