Agulhus Country Lodge, Cape Agulhas
Dinner at Agulhus country lodge - Janey & co.. Date of travel: Oct 2006
Although we didn't stay at the Agulhus Country Lodge, we did go for dinner. The B&B is just as you come into Agulhus proper and is a lovely red-roofed, cladded building. the interior is cosy, with old wooden staircases and lovely wooden floors. Nice small bar upstairs - pre-dinner drink. Also a cigar lounge for after dinner. There is no menu - a set meal is served and although the food was delicious - one problem was that it took a long time to emerge. We were a party of 6 and in the small dining room we were in, there were only 4 or 5 other people. We waited a long time between courses and were going to skip dessert, but it arrived just in time. As i said, lovely food but perhaps they need a bit more help in the kitchen. They did, however, also cater well for my vegeterian husband. Apparently the rooms are excellent. Definitely a place to consider staying.
