We would recomend the Ambassador Hotel to anyone. We stayed late November 2008. It has fantastic views is tucked out of the way but not to far from the Waterfront. We had the pleasure of watching the Whales and dolphins from the hotel terrace. The Staff are very professional and friendly in fact nothing was to much trouble. The Salt restaurant is excellent. If you feel like going a little down market there is a pub down the road called Brian's. Great atmosphere and a pound a pint what more could anyone want? The down point to our holiday was my wife lost her camera but when we phoned the hotel on return and they had it in the safe. They offered to post it but we have a friend picking it up for us. Truly fantastic place to stay. Definitely going back.

The Ambasador Hotel is well situated, in Bantry Bay, just between the Clifton Beaches and Seapoint. All the rooms have a fantastic sea view - they literally look down on the sea and you hear waves breaking as you go to sleep. The rooms are quite small and thedecoration is a bit dated but the impecable service more than makes up for this. The bar is great - and ideal for sundowners and it looks west over the ocean. The restaurant is okay, but there are plenty of other choices with more atmosphere within a 5 minute drive. A great little bar/deli call Carlucios is opposite. In all, I'd happily stay at the Ambasador Hotel if I visit Cape Town again. Tour Operator: Lastminute
