We have stayed in Constantia Uitsig (pronounced Contantia Aitsig) every year for the last 8 years and find it very comfortable and ideal for older couples like ourselves. The rooms are tastefully done up in a cottagy style - they look like little white-washed cottages with thatched roofs; the only thing lacking is a private area to sit by the rooms but there are plenty of lovely spots in the grounds which include a full size cricket pitch and are surrounded by vineyards with backdrop of the mountains. Uitsig has two of the best restaurants in Cape Town: The Colombe Restaurant, which has very rich French food, and Uitsig Restaurant which looks over the cricket pitch and vineyards and has excellent anglo-french food - the best in Cape Town in my view. Unfortuanly the cost of staying in Uitsig has going through the roof in recent years, as with many of Cape Town's best restaurants, which may deter us from going again.
