We have just returned from a weekend in Franschoek where we went for a wedding. We stayed in the Rose Cottages which is just outside Franschoek behind the memorial. Great setting overlooking vineyards and the mountains. There are only six rooms and it's very tastefully done up with a couple of small swimming pools and terraces. Tranquil and private. It was good being out of the town, still close enough for the restaurants but you're in a much better setting and the prices are much better value than the better-known hotels in town.
