Lake Pleasant Hotel was comfortable accommodation (not 5*) very nice view over the Lake, however the "Bistro" is extremely slow and the food well below standard. We travelled with 3 children aged 10 and 14 yrs they were not allowed to go in the spa pools so their alternative was a tiny splash pool which really was suitable for toddlers only.

Lake Pleasant Hotel is just outside Sedgefield, 20 minutes from Knysna. The hotel was recently converted into apartments, which are very comfortable and look across a lawn and over the lake - Lake Pleasant. Service is not great, but there is an excellent spa. It's also well catered for children, with a kids pool and play gym etc, this doesn't spoil it for others as it is quite spread out and children are not allowed near the spa and adult pool.
