The Barcelo Atenea Mar Hotel is a large modern hotel with cheap room rates. The rooms are perfectly comfortable but small. The problem was a) the reception staff, who were rude and hopeless and b) the location: the hotel was miles from the centre of Barcelona and had no decent transport. On the plus side, there is a good gym in the basement and great views from the top floors.
