Having just spent a week at this hotel we could not fault the food or the location. However, if you are looking for a lively holiday, then don't go here. In our late fifties, we felt like youngsters as the clientele were mainly pensioners. This hotel is ideal for elderly or disabled guests as the area is flat and right next to the sea, with a level promenade and a level shopping street nearby. Sightseeing was disappointing though! The scenery in this part of Spain is spoilt by the many acres of agricultural land swathed in polythene sheeting!!! Yes, there are mountains but they are not very picturesque. If you want a relaxing holiday by the sea with good food and clean accommodation, then this is for you. Also, the place for you if you like spending time in the pub as the lounge area in the hotel was more like a working men's club than a hotel lounge bar, but obviously a lot of people like this, as well as the bingo and other entertainment on offer. I would not return to this hotel unless I wanted a break for a few days with nothing to do except relax in the sun.

Hotel Sabinal - Carol & Ken Renyard. Date of travel: Oct 2006
The Hesperia Sabinal is really great, its right on the beach nothing to see but sea. The food is brilliant, and offers many choices. The staff are very friendly and will help in anyway they can with whatever problem. They speak very good English. My husband and i have spent many happy hours in this hotel. It is highly recommended. We intend to return again shortly. This resort is ideal for anyone as it is completely flat. There are mountains around that can be visited by car or tours. The weather is super.
