I brought my wife and 3 kids here in October. Our room was basic but adequate. The kids were entertained during the day by the children's club and there were various activities at night. We all enjoyed the food and agreed there was a wide selection on offer. Alicante is a good family resort. The beaches are lovely and it's safe to swim off the coast.

Absolutely terrible..came on my own and couldn't find anyone who speaks English! My room wasnt done until 3.30pm every day so you couldnt go chill in your room. The bar staff blatently talk about you in front of you in Spanish! Supposed to be all inclusive hotel..when I arrived I got told i was half board.. how does that work in an all inclusive hotel?? The fact that the only bar you can chill and smoke in closes at 12.00 was pretty annoying if you didnt want to go listen to mind numbing karaoke... never been so glad to get back home..do not advise going to the Hotel Magic Cristal Park to anyone unless they are over the age of 65 and speak fluent Spanish!

First and definitely the last time I will be going to mainland Spain. My family and I (9 of us in total), have just spent 2 weeks of pure torture in the Hotel Magic Cristal Park. The hotel was dirty and the staff were rude and unhelpful (including our travel rep). This hotel is an all inclusive hotel. Here are just some of the things that happend during our stay.... The hotel has 5 bars (4 of these closed at midnight and you were asked to leave these areas at this time - you weren't able to sit outside the hotel as the staff brought in the outside tables and chairs, you weren't allowed to sit in these areas even after the bars had closed). You either had to go down to the dungeon to listen to karaoke/disco music which went on until 8:00am, or you had to go to your room. Rooms were dirty - maid service unbelievable. One young couple on the same floor as myself had complained that the children's bed in their room had a large stain on the mattress, and that they wanted the mattress changed. A maid came up, sprayed the offending mattress with something and then put some clean sheets on it. Childrens swimming pool was closed down due to a 5 year old being taken to hospital following her being in the water and contracting something from it. Staff in the restaurant were extremely rude and bad mannered - it was like being in a cattle market. The hotel boasts a sauna (as advertised in our summer brochure), this had been closed for 12 months. It also boasted a gymnasium on the 7th floor - this was rarely ever open and when it was all it held was approx 3 pieces of equipment. There was no lifeguard round the pool area, and the pool area was very slippery and dangerous underfoot. There was no poolside snack bar, if you wanted anything to eat you had to traipse down 8 flights of stairs to the hotel restaurant to get something to eat outside of breakfast, lunch or dinner times. There were supposed to be 10 hotels in this chain, after traipsing around looking for them we found 2 of them had closed down and had been for 4 years (again these were advertised in our holiday brochure). The hotel has 4 lifts, 2 which held 4 people and the other 2 held 12. These were never available and when they were they were used by children/teenagers who just wanted to ride up and down in them. I witnessed a young father who had waited more than 3/4 of an hour for a lift before finally giving up the ghost and carrying his baby in the pushchair up 4 flights of stairs to their room. Now you may ask why we didn't speak to our holiday rep about any of the above...we did. She wasn't interested - in fact I think if we saw her twice throughout our whole stay we were lucky. When you went to her with complaints she was rude and arrogant, definitely lacking in customer service skills. All in all this was the worst holiday any of us have ever had, and to cap it all on the day of our departure we were sat on the coach to the airport for 1 hour and 35 mins (a journey which should only have taken 40 mins tops), and then when we got to the airport we were delayed 3 hours. I have never been so happy to come home and go back to work!!

The information, presented by the hotel on the internet, is false. There is no fitness, no sauna, no decent jacuzzi and the small indoor swimming pool is freezingly cold. There is nothing to do inside the hotel except drink and eat. The food isn't that bad if you like it greasy. The "out of order" sign is used all the time. When something is broken (which happens a lot) They don't do anything about it. They just put up the sign. During the 10 days we stayed there we went to the reception at least 5 times because we couldn't enter our room anymore. The key card often didn't work. The majority of the staff was quite friendly though. During the nights there was so much noise in and outside the hotel. A good night's rest is impossible.

Visited this hotel for the first time with my freind & my two children. Won't be visiting again. We were led to believe that by paying for all-inclusive, that's what we would get!!! Not true I'm afraid, so take plenty of money with you. Also we spent our entire holiday queuing so be prepared to queue to get into restaurant, bar, reception & even to get into the lifts. Not enough staff there to cope with the demand of such a big hotel in the height of the holiday season, and the staff that were there were rude and not helpful. It was also the Spanish main holiday while we were there & we felt we were treated like second class citizens; they pushed and shoved us all about and called us English yobs! I wonder why when we are treated this way!!! Tour Operator: My Travel

The hotel was fab ... can't wait until I go back. Me as a teenage girl gets bored really easilly ... but not here, there's something to do all the time. The nightlife is great both inside and outside the hotel. The good nightlife is in the new town. The staff were great, can't fault them one bit. Our wardrobe door broke and when we reported it someone was sent straight up to fix it .... no complaints. Just about every where you go you find something wrong, well it was hard to find it here but the only complaint was that we had to queue for quite a while to get our cards when we first arrived at the hotel. There are 4 - 5 bars there open at different times throughout the day and all the staff at each bar are great. You never have to queue for long at any of the bars. Enjoy!!!
