Right next to the Park. Food good, fresh and varied. Check-in is still a nightmare. They really should sort it out - 2 hours in a queue this time. Though, when I got to the front the lady remembered me from last year, which was nice. Nice Sauna and steam room, limited but functional gym. Lifeguards covering every view around the swimming pools. Pools are clean. Waiting staff very hard worked and still pleasant. The bathrooms do require more maintenance, or a refurb with low maintenance materials. (mouldy grout in places around the bath) Slow drain in the basin, but not grossly so. May force myself to try Caribe, or El Paso next time, just for a change.

OMG if you want fun go to Salou. The night clubs are just the best. They say Salou is for families but it's not. I'm 18 and going back next year. Salou '09 here we come!

Hotel Port Aventura
Right on the Port Aventura Theme Park's doorstep. 20 minutes from Reus airport, so transfers are quick and painless. Excellent choice of fresh food for dinner in the buffet and additional excellent presentation of food in the other hotel restaurants. Pool Lifeguards, so no blindspots and parents can relax. Excellent, no need to book kids club until 7pm! Can use all or part of a session. View into the park from bridge - so you can ditch the crowds and watch the fiesta without the scrabble home afterwards. Express passes (immediate entry, entry an hour later after the pass is full and hotel key immediate entry after 9pm) invaluable. A lovely stroll down to Salou town and beach front. Fridge in the room, a bonus!! It's hard to find things to spend your money on, because the holiday you paid for includes almost everything. Transfers to and from beach club and adjacent beach (great surfing potential on occasion). Only two disappointments: upkeep of bathroom tiles (mould spots) and given a breakfast time slot, which is more akin to a 1950s holiday camp not a four star hotel. However, I never saw them turn any late starters away, even when there was a queue to be seated. Tour Operator: Thomas Cook; Rep: Aileen Tour Operator: Thomas Cook
