Salauris Palace was a very clean and pleasant hotel where the food was ok, maybe a bit repetitive. The hotel reception staff are helpful and friendly, but the bar and restaurant staff a little abrupt with a very limited understanding of the English language.

Had a great holiday at the Saularis Palace, very clean & a good sized rooms. Very busy hotel so get up at 7.30 for a sunbed! The restaurant is good but very hot in the side eating room. Forget trying to get a fresh omelette unless you queue for 20 minutes in the morning. Same at night for the carvary. Great variety of food so anyone who complains must be crazy. Reception staff friendly until it doesn't suit them then they 'no comprendy'. Towels available for a €10 deposit & €1 each time you change. Don't lose your receipt as I had 4 Towels & had a fight for my €40 at the end of the holiday as I lost my receipt even though I still had the towels? Bar Staff look as though they don't want to be there. Overall hotel was ok but not a 4 ****. Hard to find a sunbed which is not broken & watch you eyes on the brolly spikes. Reported by several people but they still did not fix. Overall a good 3***.

The Salauris Palace Hotel is good, it is very clean, the rooms are a good size but the restaurant staff are very unfriendly. Drinks are not provided at the evening meal - we didnt know this - and when my two children took a bottle of water in each and were told that they were not allowed their own drinks and we were supposed to buy drinks from the restaurant bar! The food seemed okay but was never hot and the menu was very repetitive. The pool area at the Salauris Palace Hotel is nice outside with a waterfall and jacuzzi type area but it is near impossible to get a sunbed unless you get up at first light. Unruly and unsupervised kids spoilt the pool on many occasions as my Mum (who cannot swim and has arthritis) enjoyed sitting in the jacuzzi area but was thwarted everytime she went in by the same extremely rude Irish kids who delighted in making a thorough nuisance of themselves by jumping in and splashing her as much as possible on purpose. Maybe it is okay when not the kids summer school holidays. The Port Aventura Theme Park is a must if going to Salou. Buy tickets in the UK though as very expensive on the gate. We went to the Park nearly every day as the kids loved it. Dragon Khan is a must - it has 8 loops - fantastic!! The water rides are fabulous and cool you down as it was 37 degrees when we were there. A word of warning if you are walking to the park from the hotel (this takes about 15 mins on an uphill climb). The Reception Staff are the best people in the hotel - they all speak english and are very helpful if you have a problem. Would go back to Salou - but not in a rush, prefer Benidorm although Port Aventura is slightly better than Terra Mitica.
