Booked our trip as a budget holiday package. Stayed at Green Field ApartHotel and were pleasantly suprised with the quality of these budget accommodations. We requested a balcony near pool through our travel booking and were given one overlooking the pool. This is on the back side of the hotel closer to the freeway, but it's much quieter than the rooms with balconies on the front of the hotel, which overlook the Irish pub area. Very noisy. Clean rooms, big shower with hot water, rooms cleaned every day except Tues and Thurs (maid's days off). Very clean pool area and the hotel was always cleaned. Loved the massage chairs and internet access in the lobby (€2 for 5-6 minute massage and coins for internet access). Poor front desk service, especially in the morning. Couldn't answer any questions about directions, restaurant locations, etc. - but this isn't a hotel, so I guess concierge-like helpfulness should not be expected. (We found the night staff much more helpful than the day staff at the front desk.) We are so glad we only purchased bed and breakfast - not full board. The buffet breakfast was perfectly fine (you cannot mess up toast, yoghurt, cereal, coffee, juice), but I would not want to eat cafeteria food every day in the basement of an apartment hotel for 7 days. (They served traditional Irish breakfast, but we did not eat their eggs, rashers, beans, etc.) Pool is shaded in the mornings, and in winter, we found it was sunnier (i.e. warmer) often at the coast just a few blocks away. This hotel is only three blocks from the east end of the Paseo Costa Canaria promenade. Gorgeous way to pass the time, walking along the promenade. Kashbah Center and Parque Tropical bus station is only five minutes walk too.

This place was bril, wouldn't recommend it for families. I was there for two weeks and hopefully I will be going back in Oct. The rooms were lovely but wouldn't eat in thier restaurant! Filled with Irish so had a brilliant atmosphere for def and just a stones throw from the Irish centre where we spent most of our holiday! Would def tell everyone to check out the Irish rover. Good music and yet again good atmosphere! Oh and girls do the wet t-shirt competition. All good fun! xx

This is not an apartment for families as your travel agents should let u know... I'm 19 and went there with a crowd of my friends... absolutely loved it... Rooms were cleaned nearly every day and the staff were very friendly. Great pool as well. Definitely going back next year...

Greenfield has the best location just opposite all the Irish pubs and clubs, but I suppose if you are trying to get some shut-eye then this might not be so good for peace and quiet. But we had good craic, what a place, and the hotel is fine for your needs - just simple basic rooms but clean at least. Full of young lively people like us so we had a good time - wouldn't recommend Greenfield hotel for families though cos of the noise and partying going on!

They are average apartments with minimal luxuries. Their best quality is their convenience for young groups looking for nightlife at their doorstep. I didnt mind because 90% of the time i was boozing and the other 10% of the time was wasted. The locals were incredibly ignorant we couldnt decide who were the most ignorant but their are a few rare exceptions (I dont blame them really, if a group of drunken yob tourists overran my town I wouldnt be smiling). You cant walk down the street. The market men are con artists, they know every accent inside out and if your english they love the english and their from peckham and hate the Irish. If theyre Irish theyre from Ballymun, hate the English and know how to say Fáilte, I mean how stupid do they think we are but then again some are gullible enough to believe the english reps love the irish. Everyone wants your money and believe me they get it. Playa del Ingles is sleazy enough and you should stick to the main roads. It is very lively lots of pubs clubs and puking teenie boppers, the music's commercial and the town is commercial, its really not family orientated. Its a very artificial town so if you're looking for something cultural this is not the holiday for you, but if your group between 18-21 you'll love it, believe it or not I did! Perfect for a first time holiday.

I'm John from Dublin. I am a single gay man.
I go to the Greenfield all the time. I always travel alone. I find the Greenfield the best apartments, great poolside bar with lots of Irish people, and some hunky guys. (Nearly all straight but its nice to look).
The Irish centre is just across the street and late at night I head to the Yumbo centre and pick up a nice bloke. Try it: you won't be disappointed.

It was a tad noisy with the echoey halls, and on the nights next door decided to argue on the stairs it was a night mare. But when asked to keep it down apologies went flying and it stayed quiet.
Some of the guest were totally mental and this made a fantastic holiday with many stories to tell.
The pool was always full but not over crowded so lying on a lounger was always easy. I had a great time, got a great tan and told great stories. :) Tour Operator: First Choice

The Greenfields apartments are very nice: the staff are friendly, they are in a very central area (Irish centre across the road, and mins from the beach!). I would recommend these apartments to anyone thinking of going to Gran Canaria for their holidays.

I am a young women from Dublin and in the summer of 2004 I went to the Green Fields and stayed for the 2 wks. I thought the apartments were awful as they were not clean at all.
the staff and security were very unpleasant and not helpful at all. they were argumentive and violent. I would never return to these apartments as they were noisy and filthy.
