I wouldn't recommend the Altamar Apartments for children as on our first morning there my little 6 year old sister got seriously hurt when the patio window fell out and cut her skin and has left her scarred.

I found the Altamar apartments very clean newly decorated and fitted out. The staff are very friendly and if you have a problem it is dealt with asap. Thomson staff are brilliant with everyone dealing with everyday enquiries to entertaing the holiday makers to make youe stay enjoyable and memorable. Big Gazza what a fun big guy good entertainer. The Altamar complex is very clean in all areas. However 1 ok 2 bad points I found out 1 there was not a railing around all balconys I looked down and saw a child climbing on to edge, 2nd bad point the entrance to the apartment is through your balcony any one with young child like me with a three yr old could easily get out needs gates on to prevent this, as there are a lot of passage ways, steps and lifts for the children to get lost or worse. I was to scared to take my eye of my child for one second so had to keep the sliding door shut. If this was looked into and corrected I would go back to the Altamar as I loved the service, location, standers of the Altamar and all the staff who all played apart in making it a good holiday.

We will definitely go back again next year to the Altamar apartments as we had a fantastic family holiday in Puerto Rico! The entertainment at the resort was great and even the kids were happy and the staff were excellent. Would recommend this resort to anyone - you cannot find fault with the clean rooms, pools, views, food and staff.

Altamar is a very nice hotel with friendly staff and guides every day. A good place for familys with children.
There are 2 pool sections - one for the quiet people and a pool section for the young and noisy people where there is music and different kind of games in the pool all day.
The Alatamar apartments is placed on the cliff with a beatyfull view over the sea.
There is only a few minuts from the Europe Shoppingcenter and the mini golf park area.
If you want to go to town, you can take a taxi to the shopping center in centrum.

We went to the Altamar hotel last summer. The Altamar is a large apartment block built into the mountainside in Puerto Rico. Their apartments are quite small and could do with some redecoration, but they are well equiped and suited us well. Each room has a balcony with sun chairs and good views. The hotel hasTwo large pools - one is a quiet one and one loud - with music playing and lots of action. The Altamar is close to the Europa shopping centre; there is a bigger shopping centre is a short taxi ride away - taxis are very good value. The best beach in the Puerto Rico is the Amadores beach.
