Blue Star Apartments are very basic but clean, cleaners tend to be a bit rude if you are still in when they come to clean.

First of all when I arrived at the Blue Star apartments in Puerto Rico the lift was broken so I had to carry my suitcases down the stairs and I also asked for a lower apartment they did not give me that either! Overall my holiday was fab once I found a place to go every night, I strongly recomend Pub Turbo if you are looking for a great time. Also if you are travelling with older residents I strongly recommend that you do not go to this hotel as it has a steep ramp or stairs in order to get or go out of the hotel.

Just had a week at the Blue Star Hotel, and to be fair, could find little to complain about. Room was clean, and had a tremendous view out to sea. Kettle was already in the room, and safe was cheap to rent. Staff were fine, and even better if you made the effort to use a little Spanish, as some of them spoke little English. Never saw a single cockcroach. Quite a few Cats and Kittens, all of wihich were cute. Its the same all over Puerto Rico wherever you stay. The hotels say not to feed them, but all sell cat food in their supermarkets! The main lift stopped and started all week, but the two other lifts worked fine all week. No problem with moving luggage around. Right next to the Europa Centre which has pretty much everything that you could need. Walk to resort is easy enough too, return up the hill by taxi was 2 euro 30 cents! and taxis are plentiful and clean. All in all we enjoyed the Blue Star Hotel, and would certainly return in the future. Tour Operator: Going Abroad

Read some of the other reviews, didn't agree about it being so dirty, although cockroaches were well at home there. Found the reception staff as helpful as they could be but the complex lacked a lot of basics. If you wanted a cuppa a kettle was 12 euros, and every other item the same. Surely when on a self catering holiday some simple basics are expected. Outside of the Blue Star there was plenty to do, beaches, boat trips etc. and Puerto Mogan well worth a visit. Would go again but not to the Blue Star... Tour Operator: Firstchoice

I have read other peoples complaints and think others should know that it's not as bad as they say! We had a Great Time there, The staff were First Class! The Kettle was Free so I don't know what the other person was on about. The toaster on the other hand was 12 euros which you got back once returned, We had a Excellent Holiday!! Even tho it did rain a few days. Tour Operator: Cosmos

My first ever holiday abroad, and I went with my partner and son. I really enjoyed Gran Canaria. The BIG downside to my holiday was the hotel. It was dirty, over run with stray cats, and there were more cockroaches then guests. The staff were rude and unhelpful. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Tour Operator: First Choice

It was my first time at puerto rico and it was brilliant, the night life was great and people where so friendly!! the only down side to the holiday was Blue Star, I'd go back to puerto rico again but i'd never go back to blue star again. As soon as we arrived out appartment was on the 1st floor, which meant we had to go in that blue lift, which kept on breaking down throughout my holiday. as soon as me and my friends got to the apartment. it looked like someone hasn't even been down there for months. the view was literately a brick wall with a railing on the top of it. Inside the apartment it was really stuffy, it smelt mouldy, there were spiders all in the bed lining. Also the apart was dirty. We demanded to be moved. Eventually we got moved to another apartment, which wasn't even cleaned from the previous people who stayed there that day, but then we just stayed on the sofa, as we didnt care as long as we didnt have to stay in the first apartment. the next day a cleaner was supposed to come to clean the apartment but never did, so we ended up being moved again, on the 7th floor this time. This apartment was much better but it just annoyed me and my friends, that they thought they could stick us anywhere and they was wrong. The swimming pool was never cleaned out during my time i was there, and we was there a week. you physically couldnt swim in the pool it was that dirty, plus there was rubbish all around the pool which was there for 3 days until someone came and cleared it all up. the staff was rude most of the time. the only highlight to that place was the parrot!!! I'm going back to puerto rico in september, but we won't be going back to Blue Star! Tour Operator: First Choice
